Abstract

This experiment was conducted to evaluate the effects using of Nettle (Urtica dioica ), Menta pulagum ‌(Oreganum valgare) and ‌‌Zizaphora (Thymyus  valgaris) medicinal plants and there mixtures on biochemical and immunity parameters of broilers. This experiment was conducted in a completely randomized design with 288 of broiler (Ross-308) in 8 treatment and 3 replicate (with 12 hen in each replicate) from 1 to 42 days and included: 1) control group without using any medicinal plants, 2) 1.5% of Nettle 3) 1.5% of Menta pulagum 4) 1.5% of Zizaphora 5) 1.5% of Nettle and Menta pulagum 6) 1.5% of Nettle and Zizaphora 7) 1.5% of Menta pulagum and Zizaphora and 8) 1.5% of Nettle, Menta pulagum and Zizaphora. The results showed that the use of different levels of medical plants mixtures have significantly effects on biochemical parameters of broilers (P<0.05). The lowest amount of blood cholesterol (100.97 mg. dl) was observed in 3 experimental group and the lowest level of blood triglyceride ( 38.27 mg. dl) was observed in 8 experimental group. The overall results showed that the using 1.5% of  Nettle (Urtica dioica ), Menta pulagum ‌(Oreganum valgare) and ‌‌Zizaphora (Thymyus  valgaris) medicinal plants period positive effects on biochemical parameters of broilers.

Abstract

Four experiments were conducted for investigation the effects of using different levels of some medicinal plants on carcass traits of female broilers. In each of these experiments 300 of 1 day -old broiler (Ross 308) from 1-42 days of age in two breeding period including starter 1-21 and grower 22-42 days of age were used in a completely randomized design in 5 treatments and 3 replicates (with 20 bird in each replicate). The amounts of each medicinal plant were 0 until 2 percent (0, 0.5, 1, 1.5 and 2%) from control until 5 experimental groups. The results of these experiments showed that except using artichoke, by using other three medicinal plants levels, there were significantly difference between treatment about the carcass traits (p<0.05). By using zizaphora the lowest percent of abdominal fat (2.18) was observed in group 5 whereas the highest percent of it (5.30) was observed in control group. In experiment contain nettle levels, the highest percent of thigh (26.69) was observed in control group and the lowest percent of it (22.87) was observed in group 5. About savory the highest and the lowest gizzard percents (3.81) and (2.49) were observed in control and group 2. Using artichoke did not have any significantly effects on female broiler carcass traits. The overall results showed that using different levels of zizaphora, nettle and savory medicinal plants could effectively improve the carcass traits of female broilers.

Abstract

This experiment was conducted to evaluate the effects using Nettle, Menta pulagum and Zizaphora medicinal plants and their  mixtures on performance, carcass quality and blood biochemical and immunity parameters of broilers. This experiment was conducted in a completely randomized design with 288 of broiler (Ross-308) in 8 treatment and 3 replicate (with 12 bird in each replicate) from 1 to 42 days and included: The results showed that the using these medicinal plants and there mixtures have significantly effects on performance and carcass traits of broilers (P<0.05). The highest amount of daily feed intake (89.55 g) was observed in control group and the lowest of it (80.11g) in 7 experimental group, the lowest percent of abdominal fat (3.03) was observed in 5 experimental group, the highest percent of breast (33.54) was observed in 7 experimental group. The overall results showed that the using Nettle, Menta pulagum and Zizaphora medicinal plants and there mixtures have positive effects on performance and carcass traits of broilers.
